It should be noted that daddy surprised the family by telling us that he decided to take the week off to help mommy continue to recover from sinus surgery, as well as spend some quality time with sissy and I. When I found out the news I jumped up and down with excitement. I couldn't believe it. With that said, we made sure to make the most of the week together and had a blast!
First stop was our annual trip to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo to see the sights and ride the rides. This year's visit was special, as it was Scarlett's first time to visit. Above is me waiting in line to visit the Petting zoo.
Sissy was so excited to see all the animals she has seen in books time and time again. At one point she started jumping up and down. Mommy and daddy thought it was so cute.
Above is a picture of us having a picnic inside our "tree house". Since the weather was beautiful for most of the week, we spent a lot of time outdoors. I have always wanted to have a picnic in my house and this week daddy made sure it happened. He did not disappoint!
Towards the end of the week we were lucky to get to have a play date with Reecie Pie, our cousin. I was so very excited to see Reecie and Chia. As soon as they arrived we were off to the races playing.
As we were playing I noticed Reecie put her little bitty thumb up, almost as though she was doing the A&M sign. Not sure what that was about but I decided not to be rude and correct her by showing her the family "guns up" sign. Chia, what are you teaching her?
After playing for a while we decided to take the party outside and join in some barbie car fun!
On the last day of our vacation we decided to load up and head to Galveston for the day for some fun in the sun. This was also very special, as it was Scarlett's first trip to the beach. As soon as we arrived Scarlett began squealing out of excitement. Her face was beaming with joy as she took in the beautiful scenery.
As soon as we arrived, I made a dash for the water. Not exactly what I expected, as it was so so cold.
Scarlett was so excited to see the water and waves crash against her little feet. She could hardly contain her excitement!
What we didn't expect was Scarlett's strong dislike of sand. We couldn't believe it! Anytime mommy and daddy would put her down she would start whining as if she had ants crawling all over her. In the picture above you can see how distraught she was sitting in the sand so mommy could take a picture. LOL!
